Café Crème’s co-owner Kimmi Black shares a heartfelt connection to the place, highlighting how the café not only serves tourists, but also caters to the neighborhood’s residents. “There are many regulars who are really glad we’re here, as they seek a space to relax, hang out, and work,” she explains. The warm, welcoming atmosphere makes it a perfect pitstop for families, students, and professionals alike.

One of the café’s standout features is its unique menu that blends French and Vietnamese influences. Black and her sister, Sue Duong, who both have roots in entrepreneurship, aim to bring a slice of their heritage to Austin. “My husband, Cédric, is French, which inspired many of our offerings,” Duong notes, referring to their famous crêpes and croissants, along with exciting options like bagels and a selection of fresh tacos.

The café’s location next to the Central Library attracts a mix of individuals—from students working on assignments to families enjoying weekend brunches. Duong marvels at the scenery, saying, “The views are so beautiful. I could just sit out here on the patio forever.”

Since its opening, Café Crème has gained popularity not just for its scrumptious offerings but also for its vibrant environment. The café is expanding its menu with cocktails and boba tea, alongside an extended operating time from 7 AM to 9 PM.
